“A Hunger for Food Knowledge”

I love the title that the reporter came up with for this article. We don’t get the local newspaper, but I guess our story made the front page! More and more of those in our area are wanting to learn more about the food they are eating. We were excited to share our experiences.

Here is a link to the article and to the video they made.

Thank you for sharing the article and the video. I wish that I had access to these food options in San Diego, without the huge differences in prices. I especially loved seeing the way the chickens are raised. This takes me back to how my grandparents raised chickens on their farm back in the 40’s and 50’s when I was growing up.

You can shop more healthful without going to local farms. There are ways to keep prices down for your family. Just making better choices even without buying from the local farms will give you better health. That is what we did at first. I guess I look at it this way.. I would rather make the good choices and maybe spend a little more than to be put on medications and spend a lot more going to the doctor because I have become unhealthy due to the choices I made. Hard to put a price on health. Buy from local farmers when you can, even if it is just a little bit. I feel the more consumers are aware and the more we support local, the prices will start to go down.
