Beef and Bacon Chowder

This recipe may be more fitting for a cool fall day, but it was so good that it would be great any time of year!  The kids loved it as well.  I have to admit it came out even more delicious than I expected!

Scalloped Potatoes

Recipes posted a year ago:

This is such a wonderful comfort food and so delicious and easy to make. It doesn’t get much better than that! I have to admit that I just kind of guesstimated on the amount of ingredients. It’s pretty hard to go wrong.

Mark’s Primal Hot Cereal

Recipes posted a year ago:

If you are not familiar with Mark Sisson, then check out his site at Mark’s Daily Apple.  The site is an excellent resource for health information and recipes.  This recipe came from one of Mark’s cookbooks, Primal Blueprint, Quick and Easy Meals.  It is full of tasty recipes with simple ingredients that you most likely already have on hand.   The Primal Blueprint Cookbook is another one that I love to cook from.

Fall is here and the warmth and smell of this breakfast dish hits the spot!

Pickles

Recipes posted a year ago:

I got this wonderful pickle recipe from my friend Jen over at Inspiration Plantation and she was very kind to let me share it.   I got the cucumbers from her as well.  I love getting eggs, chicken, and pork from this local farm.  If you are from this area, make sure to come take a farm tour and stock up on some yummy farm goodness!

If you have not done any canning then this is an easy recipe to start with.  It’s a very easy one for kids to help with too!
